Crew

The old crew met up for dinner and drinks pre-open mic yesterday. This little meet-up ended up stealing the show. Last years crew together again. It doesn't happen that often these days. And as the next couple weeks and months roll by many of these fine folks will be leaving the ROK. Sad day. But this one was happy. <3

The nice Korean man took three pictures of our group. haha He was an expert. And here are all three. Pick your favorite!

To rub it in.

I just received this years schedule for school. I have had eight days off already, mind you. And guess how many I have left this year? Guess! SEVENTEEN! That's 25 total. I'll take it! Of course, this is not counting Saturdays and Sundays but never the less... Hello three and four day weekends! Hello vacation! Hello sunshine and exotic places! Ahhh Korea. <333

Oooowwwwwhh craft project!

Check one off the list! On Monday, I made a couple of decoupage lanterns/ candle holders. They turned out pretty great. I may now be on a spree to fill my baby studio apartment with them.

Also, for those of you who do not have the pleasure of knowing, I love making cards! I don't know if anything can beat last year's Halloween cards. Really, they were great. And of course, I didn't take any pictures. But holy cats! They were jems. I managed to get out a couple Valentines this year. Nothing too much, can't take too much of the hearts and flowers. Mine were nice and corny. Lots of puns. Again, no pictures. However, Tucker took a picture of his so I will put that up.
Hmmm perhaps next time I will snap a shot or two. At least for my memory.

I think my favorite was two purple cut out beats, "No one can beet a friend like you!" On another, I created little nut shapes, "Don't go nuts without me!"
Just to give you a little glimpse into this Cody mind of mine.<3

Valentine's Day Snow Blizzard!

Hastily taken photos from my slippy sliddy walk to work. A shot snatched quickly caught between me nearly falling on my bum and trying not to be late for work. This was the most snow in a long long while in Busan. I even had a half day at school! Woohoo!

A shot from the subway later that day. It was a madhouse down there. This photo does no justice. Film crews from tv stations were getting it on video- it was coocoobananas

The next day is here and the snow is still out. Here are some quick shots from outside of my window. And now you can also see my view. When I sit at my desk I just see the mountains and sky- works out pretty well that way. Clear sunny day but it's freezing. Bah! Go figure--one nice week and I get all excited- stock up on outdoor gear. Then bam! The coldest snowiest weather yet! I know I shouldn't be talking compared the midwest<3 buuuuuuttttt HURRY UP SPRING!
ps The snow was super pretty. It was great to have it. A treat. And now you can go...

Korean boys and calendars

First off, this is my new office. I work at Nammun Elementary School. It's really cool to go to school and have the halls be full of kids. I don't teach all of them. I only work with the ones that have signed up for the after school program. Never the less, hellos and loads of excitement are burst out from the kids. It is cool to see the rest of their work up in the classes and halls. I don't have a formal room of my own. With each class I move from room to room. I love looking at the projects kids are working on in other classes. I'm envious of many of them. I wish I could do fun art projects and such all day long with all of my classes! It's cool.

Co-workers: Erin, Rachel, Ester.

My desk.

I said I wanted a calendar for work. And woohoo Ester saves the day and says she has one for me. The next day she showed up with this masterpiece. Yes! I couldn't wait to tell you folks about this piece of work. Brightened my day right up I tell you!

Let's take a look at some more of these pictures!

Crazy eyes.

Yes, this is a boy, all of them, yes.

And in the corner of each little calendar there is a little chicken advertisement. Woohoo to free calendars making my day (or year)!

Aaahhh Korean boys. Now let me also tell you they are not all on this scale. Many hotties out there.

The Defector Frequency

Rockin' it out on a traditional Busan Friday night.

Welcome Spring

The first tree to pop. Hurry up Spring! I have been getting ready for its arrival. Purchasing two bikes, a tent (debating on another), sleeping bags, and hiking boots. Here's to this year being a good one.

p.s. That second bike that I bough is a doosy! It's green and beautiful and I'm slightly worried that it will steal my heart away. I'll get up a photo soon.

Superbowl!

The Packers are the best! See, I told you so! Wooohooo! The game was on at 8:30am here. Rise and shine kitty-cats! You know I wouldn't miss a thing. A group of three lovely ladies from WI helped cheer on the Pack! Go Pack Go!

Shannon, the cooking queen, made lemon bread with lime glaze on it for the game. Packer cake!!

Bloody with a beer back- a giant one at that. WI style now, eh?!

Jeff and Matt came out to watch the game with us too. After the game, Matt gave me a ride to work on his motorcycle! It was my first time riding a motorcycle in a city, let alone in Korea. Scary! Fun! What a great Monday it was. x
